Jaime Tirado is 19 years old and college bound. Raised by a confident but not cocky Puerto Rican family, Jaime has manged to maintain responsibilities and expectations of his parents. Raised to be compassionate and respectful person, he acts as a role model to his sisters and members of the Boys and Girls Club and Esperanza Inc. Keeping his grades above a C average, he has become a shoe in for a number of different scholarships that has help him to pay for school.
aime comes from an amazing community that is very diversified with Dominicans, Colombians, Asians, Arabics, and Caucasians to name a few, that blend with African Americans and Puerto Ricans. He plays a big leadership role by yearly planning a school supply drive that reaches a number of people in his community. Each year reaching more and more people he has made it possible for children to return to school with everything needed to be successful.
Jaime Tirado has a great moral influence at home. He asks “Are you living or just existing?” He later states “ As for me, I try to live life to the fullest, and live everyday as if it was my last.” He comes from a strong religious background that helps him keep his moral goals in check. He is Pentecostal and attends church regularly. God has impacted Jaime’s life in many way; some are he has never smoked, or even thought about experimenting with drugs or alcohol.
Jaime Tirado is a powerful member of the community and a wise pick for community spotlight.
