·         The elections may be in the past for everyone, but, trouble for Ward-14 City Council  Latino Ex-Candidate & American Family Insurance Agent Janet Garcia may be far from over. Garcia who was arrested and currently facing felony charges for assaulting a Westlake Police officer while defending an intoxicated friend back in march, is due to re-appear in court later this month.

·         According to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office, charges were dropped in August this year due to the unavailability of the a key witness however, charges were re-filed and arraigned back in September 16th, the same day a pre-trial was held and Garcia posted a $2,500 personal bail.

·         Garcia was endorsed by the Democrat Party and Mayor Frank Jackson during the primaries and became third on the race to City Council Candidate Brian Kazy, she later endorsed previous opponent Kazy uniting forces with also latino opponent and former Ward 14 Councilman Nelson Cintron to support the Candidate’s Campaing against Re-Elected Councilman Brian Cummins. Unfortunately, many believe that her involvement in Kazy’s campaing jeopardized his run against Green Party’s Candidate Brian Cummins due to her troubled past and controversial present. Garcia continues to support the Democrat Party and has been rumored that will continue her political aspirations in the next election.

·         THE STATE OF OHIO vs. JANET GARCIA (CR-13-577527-A) Trial is set for November 18th, 2013 at 9:00am and is open to the public.
