Open Carry Guitar Rally: CLE Edition (all are welcome!!)

Inspired by similar efforts in Dallas, Clevelanders are taking to the streets of public square with their “axes” (violins, guitars, kazoos, flutes, harps, trumpets, WHATEVER) in support of music, and in opposition to open-carry gun policies.
Why drag a semi-automatic in a grocery store, when you can bring your KAZOO?! How about a tin whistle? Or… even better… AIR GUITAR?
Details are still forthcoming, but three simple guidelines are as follows:

1. Bring your music-maker. Chime it, strike it, play it. ANYTHING! Classical musicians, folk artists, amatuers, rockers, singers, guitarists, kazoo virtuosos, woodwind players, drummer, whatever! Oh, and we’d like at least one didgeridoo.

2. Dress in your best “bandit” get-up. Be silly and have fun. We aren’t going to take ourselves too seriously with this one. For reference, see The Dallas Morning News article posted.

3. This will be peaceful. We do not want a “mean” rally. We are NOT there to hate on anyone in support of open-carry gun laws, no matter how much we may disagree. Feel free to bring pro-music signage, but NOTHING hateful.

The cellist Pablo Casals once said, “perhaps it is music that will save the world.”

Let’s try to start on Sunday.
