CLEVELAND – The City of Cleveland Division of Recreation announces the sponsorship of the Summer Food Service Program for Children. The Summer Food Service Program for Children provides free meals to all children 18 years of age and under or persons over 18 who are determined by the state or local public educational agency to be mentally or physically disabled. The meals will be provided without regard to race, color, national origin, gender, age, or disability will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.
The program begins this week, and will continue Monday through Friday at all twenty-one City of Cleveland recreation centers, all Cleveland Public Libraries and other partnering locations throughout the City of Cleveland.
“Many of our children rely on the meals they receive at school, we want to ensure that they continue to have easy access to nutritious meals throughout the summer months,” said Mayor Frank G. Jackson. “In addition to the free meals, we will continue to provide a broad range of programs for children of all ages at no cost to them or their families to help ensure they remain safe, healthy and occupied throughout the summer.”
