The new Cleveland Ballet, under direction of Puerto-Rican born Guadalupe, performs April 17

The new Cleveland Ballet, under the artistic direction of Puerto-Rican born Gladisa Guadalupe, presents a program titled, “Classic. Elegant. Timeless.” at Playhouse Square’s Ohio Theatre on Friday, April 17, at 7 p.m.. The Cleveland Ballet consists of the most respected ballet school in Cleveland, the Cleveland Ballet Youth Company and the Cleveland Ballet Orchestra comprised of several members of The Cleveland Orchestra. Our vision is to re-establish the Cleveland Ballet as the resident professional ballet company in Cleveland.The performance features not only members of the Cleveland Ballet Youth Company, but three incredible guest artists and a choreographic world premiere. 

William Preucil (Cleveland Orchestra Concertmaster) will provide musical accompaniment for two world-renowned ballet figures in Tchaikovsky’s White Swan Lake pas de deux. The dancers are Carlos Lopez, Ballet Master of American Ballet Theatre Studio Company and Adiarys Almeida, former Principal Dancer with Cincinnati Ballet and First Soloist with Boston Ballet. We have an exciting opportunity for intermediate and advanced classical ballet students to take a Master Ballet Class with guest principal ballerina Adiarys Almeida on Saturday, April 18, from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Cleveland Ballet studios, 23030 Miles Road, Bedford Heights. The class is free for any ticket holders who are intermediate to advanced level classical ballet students ages 12 to 19. For non-ticket holding ballet students, the fee is $10.
