Saint Martin de Porres, Esperanza & NorTech to Announce Partnership

Organizations Join Forces to Expose Inner-City Students to Careers in Emerging Industries

CLEVELAND, Ohio – May 5, 2014 – Saint Martin de Porres High School, Esperanza and NorTech will announce a new partnership to build a diverse pipeline of inner-city talent and connect that talent to career opportunities within Northeast Ohio’s Innovation Economy.

The partners will make the announcement at Saint Martin de Porres High School at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6. Media is encouraged to attend to find out more about the innovative partnership, hear from the students it impacts and speak with the organizations involved.

Confirmed speakers at the press event include:

  • Victor Ruiz, Executive Director, Esperanza
  • Rebecca Bagley, President & CEO, NorTech
  • Johnathan Holifield, Vice President of Inclusive Competitiveness, NorTech
  • Sydni Ford, Student, Saint Martin de Porres High School

 

In addition, other NorTech partners will be in attendance, including Believe in Ohio, the Commission on Economic Inclusion, the Council of African American Organizations and the Great Lakes Science Center, as well as representatives from companies, including Kent Displays, Lubrizol and Quasar Energy Group.

 

There are tremendous opportunities within Northeast Ohio’s Innovation Economy. But too few inner-city residents are aware of the career opportunities that exist within the region’s emerging industries.
