Mayor Frank G. Jackson gave brief remarks at the opening ceremony for the 2014 Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, which recognized Hispanic leaders in Cleveland communities. National Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15 through October 15.
Hispanic Heritage Month is a national recognition of the histories, culture, contributions and heritage of Hispanic Americans. This month long celebration includes cultural arts and activities that showcase the contributions Hispanic Americans have made to the country and in Cleveland.
Hispanic Heritage Month also allows Cleveland residents the opportunity to learn more about Hispanic culture while giving Clevelanders of Hispanic descent the opportunity to celebrate together.
