BakerHostetler Partner Recognized by National Diversity Council José C. Feliciano honored with Multicultural Leadership Award

CLEVELAND, November 12, 2014 — BakerHostetler is proud to announce that Partner José C. Feliciano is the recipient of the Multicultural Leadership Award from the National Diversity Council. Feliciano received the award at the 7th Annual Ohio Diversity and Leadership Conference in Columbus, Ohio, on October 30, 2014.

The Multicultural Leadership Award recognizes individuals of color who make a difference through their achievements and exemplify the ability to excel in their field. Feliciano was honored for personifying the principles of diversity throughout his 40-year career as an active trial lawyer through leadership, dedication to the Hispanic community, professional achievement, and his commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards.

He was elected to the American College of Trial Lawyers in 1995, and served as a White House fellow under President Ronald Reagan. As chief prosecutor for the city of Cleveland, he was the first Hispanic public official in the history of the city, and in 1983 he earned recognition as Cuyahoga County Administrator of the Year. He was inducted into the Cleveland International Hall of Fame in 2012, and the Cleveland State University Nance College of Business Hall of Fame in 2010. For three years, Feliciano served on the Board of Governors for the American Bar Association and has been elected to the House of Delegates four times nationwide. He is founder and chairman of the Hispanic Roundtable and the first and only Hispanic president of the Cleveland Bar Association.
