Mayor Frank G. Jackson was joined by Police Chief Calvin Williams; Community Relations Board Director Blaine Griffin; and Third District Interim Commander Kevin Coleman for the Third District Police Community Relations Awards Program held at Fatima Family Center on Lexington Avenue in Cleveland. Cleveland City Councilman TJ Dow (Ward 7) and Harry Boomer, Anchor, Channel 19 News provided remarks at this special celebration to recognize police officers and community members for their dedication and commitment to the City of Cleveland.
Mayor Jackson congratulated officers and citizens who have gone above and beyond the call of duty. Officers and citizens were also recognized for their outstanding service to strengthen the safety of Cleveland neighborhoods and improve the quality of life for the people in the City of Cleveland. Community members, businesses and families were in attendance. This event was hosted by the Third District Police Community Relations Committee. The Committee provides a structure which promotes communication and active mutual participation between the Cleveland Division of Police and the community, regarding safety and law enforcement in the neighborhoods.
