Working to achieve health equity and raise awareness of the health disparities that continue to affect racial and ethnic minorities, the City of Cleveland’s Department of Public Health and the Ohio Commission on Minority Health concluded this year’s 2016 Minority Health Month with a free Family Health and Wellness Festival held at McCafferty Health Center on Lorain Avenue in Cleveland.
Themed A Celebration of Heritage and Life, representatives offered a variety of free health screenings and provided discussions about healthy strategies to improve the quality of life for Cleveland residents and ways to encourage families to live a healthier life. In addition, attendees were provided information on health, wellness, educational enrichment, and information about various services in the Cleveland area. In addition, children were also able to take advantage of fun-filled and exciting activities at the health fair.
