Ohio Latino Affairs Commission Announces New Appointment to its Board: Jose Feliciano Jr

Jose Feliciano Jr. has been appointed to the Board of the Office of Latino Affairs for the State of Ohio, effective November 15th, 2013. Mr. Feliciano Jr. will be formally welcomed at the December 10th board meeting, along with recent appointees from Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati.

Commissioner Feliciano Jr. is the current President of the Young Latino Network, a group of young professionals dedicated to fostering leadership development throughout the Greater Cleveland Latino Community. He is employed by Bank of America, specializing in mortgage fulfillment and serving as the Community Involvement Chair for the Ohio Chapter of H.O.L.A. (Hispanic/Latino Organization for Leadership) employee resource group. Jose is an active member of the National Society of Hispanic MBA’s and a community partner for Convención Hispana 2013. Mr. Feliciano Jr. received the Distinguished Hispanic Ohioan Award in 2011, was recognized as one of the Top 25 Movers and Shakers in North East Ohio under the age of 35 as selected by the Cleveland 20/30 Professional Club and Inside Business Magazine, (2010) and a “Cuarenta y Cuarenta” as one of the Top 40 Latinos Under 40 by Kaleidoscope Magazine in Cleveland (2006).

His experience mentoring, engaging with young leaders and volunteering for community development projects are very valuable in a time when our commission is focusing on actively engaging with Latino young leaders, stated Michael Florez, Chairman of the Board.

The Ohio Commission on Hispanic/Latino Affairs is an organization that advises state government on issues affecting Hispanic Ohioans, connects the diverse Latino communities across the state, and builds the capacity of community organizations so they may better serve the fast growing Latino population of Ohio.
