Akron, OH, February 02, 2021 – Rebuilding Together Northeast Ohio, a local nonprofit focused on safe and healthy housing that provides residents in need with critical home repairs and revitalizes communities, is launching a She Builds event series with programming beginning on May 07, 2021.
Rebuilding Together’s She Builds program is a nationwide initiative to empower women to repair and maintain safe and healthy homes, make a difference in their communities and build a supportive community network. She Builds provides critical home repairs to women in need and revitalizes community centers providing services to women and their families. The event series includes virtual home repairs trainings to give women the skills to maintain safe and healthy homes.
According to the National Women’s Law Center, more than one in eight women and more than six in ten children live in poverty. More than half of those children live in families headed by women. Additionally, two-thirds of low-wage workers are women working for just $11.50 or less, most without a spouse’s income to rely on to support their family.
“As we continue to repair homes in communities throughout Northeast Ohio, it is important that we provide trainings that help women maintain safe and healthy homes and connect with the community,” said Pam Schuellerman, President and CEO of Rebuilding Together Northeast Ohio.
She Builds in Northeast Ohio is made possible through the support of our partners at Associated Underwriters Insurance (AUI).
