Mayor Frank G. Jackson was joined by Michael McGrath, Director of Public Safety; Calvin Williams, Chief of Police; and Brandon Kutz, Commander, Fourth District, for brief remarks and to congratulate all those awarded at this year’s Semi-Annual Cleveland Police Awards Ceremony held at Cleveland City Hall in the City Council Chambers. The award ceremony celebrates Police Officers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty and community members who are committed to safety in their neighborhoods. Together, those awarded at the ceremony are making Cleveland a safer place and improving the quality of life for all.
Throughout the year, Police Officers work tirelessly to protect and serve the people of Cleveland. This event recognized police officers for their contributions, outstanding service and acts of heroism while in the line of duty. Citizens Awards were given to residents who are committed to safer neighborhoods and join with police to strengthen their community. These awards are presented to those citizens who distinguished themselves through the performance of a heroic act involving great personal risk.
