It’s a dream-come-true for most women in showbiz to be featured among the pages of Vogue, let alone on the magazine’s cover. The fashion magazine has a history of stunning the world with its fabulous, glamorous and absolutely gorgeous models. What’s the secret? Probably the fact that it takes hours of hard work and a team of professionals to turn one Plain Jane into a flawless goddess.
In 2012 the media announced Vogue’s new model policy. All 19 international editions of the magazine now have a super strict policy about their models – no eating disorders and no teenagers under 16.
This policy is just another one of Anna Wintour’s latest steps to address the public and shine a light on eating disorders suffered by so many women and even some men nowadays. This is a bold move from the editor in Chief, but a very promising one. Vogue’s new policy could prove to the world once and forever that eating disorders and looking unhealthily skinny don’t mean looking beautiful.
