Mayor Frank G. Jackson was joined by the City Council President Kevin Kelley, Chief of Police Calvin D. Williams and other city officials to congratulate and swear-in 19 police officers from the City of Cleveland’s Department of Public Safety Division of Police who were promoted to supervisory positions at a ceremony in City Hall held in Cleveland City Council Chambers.
Mayor Jackson administered the oath of office to two Lieutenants, Michael J. Bulter and Francis P. Friedel, who were promoted to the rank of Captain. Eight Sergeants, Kristen A. Riley, Marcus M. Montanaro, Edward P. Lentz, Troy C. Strong, Predrag Malobabic, Treasa Kennedy, and Maurice P. Brow, were promoted to the ranks of Lieutenants. Patrol Officers Patrick A. Becka, Victor G. Hayes, Difranco Barnes, John K Ball, Luke A. Hartman, Diane M. Carter, Jarrod J. Durichko, Phillip L. Hawkins, Westley C. Woods, and Stephanie F. Murphy, were all sworn in as Sergeants. In addition, family members and friends were in attendance to share in this special occasion. The City of Cleveland congratulates all Police Officers promoted to supervisory positions in the Division of Police.
The City of Cleveland’s Public Safety Division of Police is looking for interested men and women to become one of Cleveland’s finest police officers. Successful applicants can be on the path to new career opportunities, a change in the future and can make a difference in the Cleveland community. The application period has been extended and there’s still time to complete the application process from now through Friday, October 21, 2016. Those who want to do something to be proud of, that will positively impact others, should consider applying to take the Cleveland Police examination. The testing period is from Monday, October 3, 2016 through Friday November 4, 2016.
