In roughly four years of planning, the new Pivot Community Center for the Arts will be open to the public. It’s west side location is at 2937 W. 25th , Cleveland OH 44113. As you first walk into the center you are instantly dazzled by vibrant murals and timelines of the CMA’s community arts throughout the years since the 90’s. The initiative of the location is to bring in the already existing arts community of the west side into the space to utilize, experience, and enjoy.
When asking about the centers near future, Stefanie Taub CMA’s Associate Director, states “The Center plans are to have community conversations this summer with different groups and residents in the area about different programs. It is very important the museum recognizes that we are coming into an already established, culturally rich community.” She further explains the plan for the summers free art making during public open hours, moving into the fall there will be more programs incorporated such as classes and workshops lead by other Artists. Another exciting part of the community engagement is CMA’s plans to invite schools to bring students into their own interactive gallery experience. “This is also a place where people can just come hang out. You don’t need a reason to come here, you can bring a snack and get away.”
The Community Arts Center is open Wednesday to Friday, 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
