The way too early schedule game

By: Antonio Castro

Antonio_CastroThis will obviously change once the NFL draft wraps up but why not have a little fun and project what the Cleveland Browns record will be this season.
Game 1 at the New York Jets.
The Browns will win this game for two reasons. The Jets have a new head coach and as it stands right now their QB is Geno Smith.
Record: 1-0

Game 2 vs the Tennessee Titans
Do the Titans even have a QB? Oh yeah, they do and his name is Zach Mettenberger. Even if Tennessee drafts Marcus Mariota, that won’t help them in this one. Browns win.
Record: 2-0

Game 3 vs the Oakland Raiders
Raiders making the cross country trek won’t be easy for a new coach and a young QB. One of the Raiders big offseason acquisitions was Trent Richardson. Sorry that won’t get it done. Browns win.
Record: 3-0

Game 4 at the San Diego Chargers
The Browns win this game and here’s why. I’m going to make the assumption that Phillip Rivers has been traded leaving the Chargers with an inexperienced QB taking on the Browns solid veteran defense.
Record: 4-0

Game 5 at the Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens have owned the Browns and they’ll keep that domination going this week. The Browns lose for the first time this season.
Record: 4-1

Game 6 vs the Denver Broncos
This game is early enough in the season that Peyton Manning will still be sharp. The Broncos will beat the Browns for the 11th straight time.
Record: 4-2

Game 7 at the St Louis Rams
The Browns get back in the win column as Nick Foles will prove this season that he is not an NFL caliber starting QB.
Record: 5-2

Game 8 vs the Arizona Cardinals
I went back and forth on this game but ultimately decided to take the Browns. Look for TE Housler to have a big game against his former team and for Karlos Dansby to harass Carson Palmer all day, reminding his former team what they let go.
Record: 6-2

Game 9 at the Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals get revenge after being embarrassed on Thursday night at home a year ago.
Record: 6-3

Game 10 at the Pittsburgh Steelers
Tough back to back stretch on the road against divisional rivals for the Browns will have them reeling a bit heading into the bye.
Record: 6-4

Game 11 vs the Baltimore Ravens
Fresh off a bye and hosting a Monday night game will have both the Browns and their fans fired up for this matchup. After a tough loss in Baltimore early in the season, the Browns get a much needed win this week as the fans start talking about that “P” word that has long eluded this team.
Record: 7-4

Game 12 vs the Cincinnati Bengals
A week after getting revenge against the Ravens, the Browns do the same to the Bengals.
Record: 8-4

Game 13 vs the San Francisco 49ers
It should be cold in Cleveland and the 49ers will be traveling across country with an overrated starting QB that could be playing himself out of the league by the time this game kicks off. Browns win.
Record: 9-4

Game 14 at the Seattle Seahawks
While the Vegas line for this game will certainly be double digits the bigger question is will it be closer to 2 td’s or 3 td’s? Browns get a taste of their own medicine in the form of a huge crowd edge.
Record: 9-5

Game 15 at the Kansas City Chiefs
Like earlier in the season this is also a tough back to back road stretch in what are possibly the two toughest venues to play in. Browns fall short but do get the pleasure of smelling great BBQ from the tailgaters.
Record: 9-6

Game 16 vs the Pittsburgh Steelers
The regular season finale in a meaningful game against their hated rival just days into the New Year sounds like great drama, doesn’t it?!? A Browns win over the Steelers here would be the first time since 2000 that they’ve beaten them in back to back seasons and this win will be even sweeter as it assures the Browns a playoff berth!
Record: 10-6
