When education gets real

Hernan Galvez 01The National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) celebrated its 24 years anniversary. The party, held at the Crowne Hotel in Independence, had “Yo Soy Latino Cleveland” TV Hostess Myra Rosario as a Mistress of Ceremony.
Ronnie Marquez, Vice President of Marketing, stressed the importance of the sponsors to make association as NSHMBA a productive reality: “We want to recognize our sponsors, to thank them, and we did it productively with a case competition. We have been working with college students since April who have been working on case studies, and the group winning the best presentation will be awarded a financial stipend towards their tuition”. We also heard from keynote speaker Carmen Heredia-Lopez, CIO at the Chicago Teachers Pension Fund who gave a very heartened speech mainly focused on encouraging Latinos to succeed through education: “We are the builders of our own future”, she said.
